Dr Lucy Smith

Lucy Is a health services researcher specialising in baby loss. Along with Lisa she conducted the interviews and did the data analysis. She works in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Leicester. Lucy’s main research interests focus on improving the outcomes for pregnant women, parents and babies and strategies to reduce inequalities in health. 

Dr Lisa Hinton

Lisa is a medical sociologist. Along with Lucy she conducted the interviews with parents and did the data analysis. She is based at the Health Experiences Research Group (HERG) in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences at Oxford University. Her research interests include women’s health - in particular infertility, pregnancy and childbirth – intensive care medicine and the use of the Internet as a resource for health information and support.
