Christia Huntington
Christia Huntington is a PhD student at the Centre for Appearance Research, at the University of the West of England, in Bristol. Christia’s research looks at online interventions for people affected by burn injuries. Christia carried out the interviews as part of her PhD, led the analysis and drafted topic summaries, with feedback from advisory panel members.
Professor Diana Harcourt
Diana Harcourt is a Professor in Appearance and Health Psychology at the Centre for Appearance Research, at the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE, Bristol). She has been conducting research into people’s experiences of appearance-altering health conditions and injuries for many years. This has included various studies with people who have burn injuries. As lead PhD supervisor, Diana supported Christia in conducting the research that has led to the creation of this Healthalk module on burns.
Dr Pippa Tollow
Pippa is a health psychologist with particular expertise in qualitative research to explore people’s experiences of health conditions including those that can alter appearance, such as burns. She was a member of Christia’s supervisory team. She was involved with the initial planning of the research and supported Christia with the recruitment and interview stages of the project, and in preparing topic summaries.
Dr Catrin Griffiths
Catrin is a health psychologist who has led several projects related to people’s experiences of burns and the development of PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) for people affected by burn injuries. Catrin was a member of the PhD supervisory team and was involved in preparing the topic summaries.
Dr Abi McNiven
Abi McNiven is a Senior Qualitative Researcher in the Medical Sociology & Health Experiences Research Group, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford. She has previously produced eight sections for the Health Experience Insightswebsite, including those on young people's experiences of acne, eczema, psoriasis and alopecia. Abi contributed to the analysis of all the topic summaries on the 'Burn Injuries' site.
