You can’t tolerate anybody being there. You can’t tolerate, you know, to put a sock on is – can be excruciating. I mean I remember at times I just couldn’t even put a sock on and I just came to work with no socks once.

Most of my friends thought it was hilarious, as most people do, “You drink too much port, you’ve got rich living.” You see, and I say to them now, “If you mention that I’m afraid you’re going to get a clip round the ear because it’s not funny anymore.” I don’t think it’s funny when people make jokes any more, they don’t understand and it does annoy me, yeah.

It really affects my life, not only my job but inside the house as well with my family, with my kids and with my wife. I can't really perform the duties of a father and a husband, because I only lie down in the bed, I can't even go to the toilet.

So, when I got the tablets right, and knew I had to take one every day there’s no problem. I’ve had no problem with gout, I carry on and as you see outside, I’ve got a large garden, I’ve got a log burner so I do a lot of sawing, I am physically fit,

I have no concerns about the future in terms of gout. I see no reason why I can’t continue, as I am, being free of gout, by taking the medication.
