Hi there. My name is Tom Deacon and I'm from Radio 1, and welcome along to this website all about drugs and alcohol. Now, on this page, you're going to see lots of clips of other young people like yourself, giving their accounts of what it's like to take drugs and alcohol. The highs and lows, the funny times, the unfunny times.
Joe: But again to follow the crowd I would drink pints and then after four or five I’d be outside being ill.
Tom: Scary times.
Jim: You can’t sleep. You can’t eat. You’re constantly running to the toilets. You just can’t do anything at all until you get another fix.
Tom: Now, if you're curious and you want to know about drugs and alcohol, then this is a great way to give you the facts and information you need to make the right decisions for you. Now, I wish there was a website like this when I was growing up, going to house parties and nights out. It would have been amazing. So have a look around and enjoy and don't forget, it's really cool to be well informed.
In this section you can find out about the experience of drugs and alcohol, by listening to people share their personal stories on film. Researchers talked to 33 young people in their own homes. Find out what people said about issues such as trying cannabis for the first time, reasons for taking drugs and cutting down on alcohol. We hope you find the information helpful and reassuring.
