Sophie works as a psychotherapist. She is divorced and the mother of two young children and is a carer for her sister. Ethnic background: Black Caribbean.

Ramila works as a Carers' Support Worker. She came to the UK from India when she was 18. She is divorced. She became her brother's main carer when she was 45.

Originally from Nigeria, Angela came to the UK two years ago with her husband. Their baby daughter was born here. She has a degree in French, and has also trained as a Pastor. She was a carer from her early teens until her late 30s.
