Interview 01

Lives in a city outside of London, diagnosed with HIV in 1985, but has never needed anti-virals, nor had a physical illness due to HIV.

Interview 04

A retired gay male who was diagnosed with HIV in 1989. His partner died of AIDS in the early 90s. He went through a 'mid-life crisis' more recently.

Interview 05

A retired gay health professional with a grown child, who was diagnosed in 1995. At one stage in 2000, he did not want to go on living, and took an overdose.

A 46 year old black African who is a highly educated professional with a grown child.

Interview 09

A black African female health professional who became unwell while visiting the UK and was shocked by her diagnosis of HIV in 2001.

A retired solicitor in a 20 year-old relationship with another HIV positive man living in a quiet coastal town.

Interview 19

A 48 year old gay man who lives in a small village in the UK. He was diagnosed in 1986.

Interview 24

A heterosexual married man who has 2 grown children who became addicted to heroin as a way of dealing with the pressures of war. He became infected with HIV through needle-sharing.

Interview 38

A 46 year old gay man who lives in a small village in the midlands. He was diagnosed in the early days of the epidemic.

Interview 42

A 51 year old woman who came to the UK from Africa over 5 years ago. She did not know what was wrong with her husband who became sick and died back home.

Interview 43

A 49 year old black African woman who came to the UK from Africa 2 years ago and became sick with HIV on her visit.

Interview 44

A 50 year old woman who came to the UK from Africa over 8 years ago.
