Dr Kate Field

Was a historian specialising in the history of medicine and oral history. She worked in publishing, television and radio before taking up academic research. Obtained a D.Phil at the University of Oxford for a study of child health in Oxfordshire 1891-1939.

Kate conducted all the original research including 40 interviews and all the topic summaries in 2004.

 

Dr Maria Salinas

Senior Qualitative Researcher, is a social anthropologist. She has worked in health research, refugee studies and gender relations in the academic and voluntary sectors for the last ten years. She obtained her D.Phil from the University of Oxford in 2000.

In 2014 Maria analysed and added 7 new interviews and updated the site as part of the ongoing updating programme.


 

Julie Evans

Is an experienced health services researcher specialising in qualitative research. She has an MSc in Social Research from the University of Surrey. Her main interest is cancer and she has worked on HEXI - Health Experience Insights cancer studies from 2000 -2018 until she retired.

In 2016 Julie updated the site as part of an NIHR Programme Grant. The update included analysing and adding 16 new interviews and new topic summaries as well as updating the rest of the site as part of the ongoing updating programme.
