University student; single; living in shared accommodation, does voluntary work for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Interview 13
Solicitor. Since her knee replacement has carried on ski-ing and horse-riding and ran the Race for Life in 2000. Fills her spare time with lots of swimming, cycling, yoga and walks in the countryside.
Interview 15
Dance teacher; single; no children; lives at home with her parents and siblings. Plans to do an MSc in dance therapy and wants to work with oncology patients.
Interview 17
Educated to university degree level; works part time for a cancer charity. Single; lives in her own flat and parents live nearby. Participates in the activities of TOPS support group.
Interview 19
Lives with partner, works as a civil servant. Volunteer for the Lymphoma Association helping other young people who are going through the experience of cancer.

Single, no children; lives at home with her family; works full time as a child care assistant. Participates in the activities of TOPS; a teenage support group.
Interview 22
Dancer; works full time with a dancing company. During her chemotherapy treatment she continued with her university studies and lived in student accommodation. She is currently living with her parents.

Student; living away from home. She is engaged to be married. British. Says that her experience of cancer has made her a more determine and stronger person.
Interview 29
Lives with her family and studies full time at university. She and a friend set up an internet forum for teenagers experiencing cancer and their siblings. She support the work of several teenage cancer charities.
