Ulla Räisänen

Ulla was a senior researcher with the Health Experiences Research Group at the University of Oxford. She has worked on research projects in health communication, the experiences of (mental) health and illness, young people's health and (mental) health in the media, both in Finland and the UK. She conducted 16 of the interviews.

​Maria Salinas

Maria Salinas is an anthropologist and obtained her D.Phil from the University of Oxford in 2000. She has worked in health research, refugee studies and gender relations in the academic and voluntary sectors. She conducted 18 of the interviews and helped with the research findings. 

Carol Dumelow

Is a qualitative researcher with over 20 years’ experience of conducting health-related research studies. She has worked on Health Experience Insightsstudies since 2001. She has a Ph.D. in Sociology (1998) from the University of Surrey. Carol analysed and wrote all the topic summaries for the site.

Kate Field

Is a historian specialising in the history of medicine and oral history. She worked in publishing, television and radio before taking up academic research. Obtained a D.Phil at the University of Oxford for a study of child health in Oxfordshire 1891-1939. Kate checked most of the research findings for the project.
